K-12 Education Consulting
I have served in education since 1998 and have experience in a variety of roles including teacher, instructional coach, reading interventionist, trainer, and consultant. I completed my undergraduate degree at Sam Houston State University and obtained my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Texas in Arlington. I was a classroom teacher for eight years before moving into a reading specialist/instructional coaching position. After eleven years of teaching and coaching, I transitioned to the role of English Language Arts Consultant, then Program Coordinator for Literacy Services at the second largest Educational Service Center in the state of Texas. Throughout the 7 years there, I developed and provided training in K-12 literacy for teachers and instructional coaches in public, private, and charter schools. As an independent consultant, I now work with various entities and organizations to promote effective instructional practices and champion the need for quality professional learning. I am passionate about the importance of coaching teachers in their craft so that every student has the opportunity to succeed, and I consider it a privilege to work with every educator that I encounter.
